Volunteer – Hope Alive

Serving God with Your Hands

We could always use extra hands to help us in sharing the love of Jesus with hurting people! If you have a passion, spiritual gift, or a willingness to serve the Lord in some way, we’d love to talk together about how you can use that thing to serve God at Hope Alive!

Below is a list of common ways volunteers can help with the ministry of Hope Alive but don’t be limited by the list! If you have a service idea, please email us so we can talk more! DawnE@hopealivefortwayne.org

Ways to Volunteer

    •  Office support (make copies, arrange new client files, help prepare mailings, etc.)
    •  Basic property maintenance (general household repairs, painting, etc.)
    •  Skilled property maintenance (plumbing, HVAC, electrical, etc.)
    •  Serve on a short-term fundraising event committee or volunteer day-of for set-up or tear-down
    •  Organize a donation drive (see Material Donations Page for a list of needed items)
    •  Organize a fundraiser
    •  Lead a short-term Bible Study or group
    •  Teach a one-time life-skills class on a topic you know (i.e. cooking, budgeting, crafting, interview skills, sewing, etc.)
    •  Write encouraging notes to our clients.
    •  Make a hand-made blanket, scarf, or other item to be given to a client in need.
    •  Organize a project to love and bless our residents (especially around Christmas, Valentine’s Day, and other holidays)
    •  Assist residents in the office with basic computer navigation and tasks (resume writing, applying for housing, etc.)
    •  Administrative support (social media, marketing/communication, website, etc.)
    •  Acquire donations for fundraisers such as silent auction items
    •  Basic housecleaning
