Support Groups and Counseling

We offer ongoing personal growth groups. The groups are small and maintain a supportive and nonjudgmental atmosphere. Groups meet weekly at the Hope Alive office, 1747 North Wells.

Current groups are:

Overcoming Emotions that Destroy— This group will help you identify how you handle your anger and give you practical biblical tools to express it appropriately as well as how to deal with those who express their anger toward you.  Mondays @ 6:30pm   Facilitator – Shirley

Battlefield of the Mind— This book by Joyce Meyer will help you learn to deal with everyday thoughts and focus your mind to think the way God thinks. Tuesdays @ 9:30am Facilitator – Joy 

“Until Today” — This group, based on the book by Iyanla Vanzant, incorporates Christian principles and core counseling topics in the form of Daily Devotions for spiritual growth, peace of mind, and deepening your relationship with God. Some topics covered will include: compassion, awareness, acceptance, forgiveness, self-worth, cultivating trust after being hurt, service to others, and the power of prayer and reflection. Tuesdays @ 6pm Facilitators – Morgan & LaClair (Starts September 8th).

Shelter from the Storm— A support group offering hope for survivors of abuse. Saturdays @ 9:00am   Facilitator – Ann

Counseling:

We provide counseling for men, women children, families and marriages. We request $25 per session; however, we do not turn anyone away for inability to pay.

Internship Opportunities:

Hope Alive offers internships for master level students pursuing counseling degrees. We accept resumes on an ongoing basis. Please contact our clinical supervisor at DawnE@hopealivefortwayne.org for more information.
